A new meshless version of the CCHE3D-GW model has been developed and is available for download.
Mohammad Z. Al-Hamdan has been named director of the National Center for Computational Hydroscience and Engineering, or NCCHE.

DSS-WISE™ Web provides access to a secure, web-based environment consisting of a graphical user interface and map server used to set up fully-automated two-dimensional dam-break/levee-breach modeling and mapping at various resolutions. It is available 24/7 and free of charge.
“Emergency managers and dam safety officials can see simulations of the consequences of flood waters washing away a levee or crashing through a dam using technology developed at the University of Mississippi — a web-based system known as DSS-WISE™ . The software went online in 2017 and quickly provided simulations that informed the response to heavy rains that damaged spillways at the nation’s tallest dam in northern California. The program also helped forecast the flooding after Hurricane Harvey in Texas and Louisiana that year.”
“By using the web-based system, vetted users can easily set up and run simulations of varying scenarios in the event of a dam or levee failure and obtain outcomes. The results, including fully GIS-compatible maps, are being returned to the user within a half-hour in 73 percent of the cases and within two hours in 90 percent of the cases.”
