Development of a Decision Support System for flood control on Nysa Klodzka River.
Upper watershed has a massive rocky underground and a shallow permeable soil layer. As a result, the region suffers from high runoff rate and high peak discharges. The storage capacity of Otmuchow and Nysa Reservoirs can be used to lower and shift the discharge peak joining Odra River and, thereby to reduce the risk of catastrophic floods (such as the one in 1997). If successful, the DSS can be used for other reservoirs.
