Aim

To study the behavior of the river system and the changes in water level depending on the management strategies upstream of Narew National Park. The influence of hydrological and hydrographic situation on potential threats (incidental release of toxic materials, scarce and surplus of water) will also be investigated.

Motivation

There is a need to better understand the influence of the anthropogenic activities in the protected part of the Upper Narew Valley .

Study Area

The multichannel Narew River reach extending from Suraz to Rzêdziany (Zoltki) villages. This marshy part of the river constitutes the basis for the Narew National Park.

Field Measurements

Water surface slopes, local water surface slopes, riparian (overbank parts) of riverbed profiles. Mean velocities and water discharges at selected cross-sections. Longitudinal profile of the investigated river reach

Numerical Simulations

CCHE1D : Flow and water quality simulations.
